The unsolved murders, kidnappings and missing persons cases that are the subject of "XY..ungelöst" have always moved viewers. Now, a new format is taking a closer look at some of the most notorious of these cases: "XY History". The first episode of "XY History" will air on December 1st at 11:15 pm on ZDF. In the new format, the editorial team of "XY..ungelöst" will delve into the most spectacular and moving cases from the past 5 decades. The focus will be on crimes that shocked a whole country and, in many cases, still occupy the minds of the public today. "We want to give the viewers the opportunity to relive these cases together with us and to take a closer look at the police work and the circumstances surrounding the crimes," says "XY..ungelöst" editor-in-chief Ina-Maria Reitz. With the help of contemporary witnesses, eyewitnesses and experts, "XY History" will take viewers back to the time of the crimes and show how the police worked to solve them. "We want to show the viewers the complexity of the police work and the challenges that the investigators had to face at that time," says Reitz. In addition to the police work, "XY History" will also provide an insight into the lives of the victims and their families. The new format is intended to be a touching and informative memorial for all those who have been affected by violent crime.
