Crooks' Father Says He Is Trying to Figure Out What Happened
The FBI has identified Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old man from Pennsylvania, as the suspect involved in the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump on Wednesday.
According to law enforcement officials, Crooks allegedly opened fire on Trump as he was leaving a rally in Washington, D.C. Trump was not injured, but a US Capitol Police officer was shot and killed in the exchange of gunfire.
Crooks was shot and killed by US Capitol Police officers.
Crooks' father, Matthew Crooks, told CNN that he was trying to figure out what happened.
"I'm just trying to figure out what happened," Crooks said. "I'm going to wait until I talk to law enforcement."
The investigation into the attempted assassination is ongoing.
