Chief Inspector Arnon Zamora Succumbs to Wounds
Israeli police have announced the death of Chief Inspector Arnon Zamora, a member of the elite Yamam counterterrorism unit, who was killed in a mission to rescue hostages held in the Gaza Strip on June 8, 2024.
According to Israeli police spokesperson, Chief Inspector Zamora was wounded during the operation in which four Israeli hostages were successfully freed from the Nuseirat refugee camp in the Gaza Strip.
Chief Inspector Zamora was a commander and tactical operator in the Yamam, Israel's national counterterrorism unit. His death marks a significant loss for the Israeli police and security forces.
